In July 2020, Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions was formed by merging specialist insurance brokers Miles Smith Insurance Solutions and Square Mile Broking to become the Specialty Clients pillar of our parent company Specialist Risk Group (SRG).

Since then, SRG welcomed several specialist people and businesses to the Specialty Clients pillar. In 2021, The Channel Partnership was acquired by SRG and undertook a business transfer and rebrand to Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions in 2025.

In 2021 and 2022 respectively, SRG acquired Emrose Insurance Brokers and Hamilton Leigh, both of which undertook a business transfer to Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions in March 2026.

In March 2026, Specialist Risk Insurance Solutions, Hamilton Leigh and Emrose rebranded to SRG, bringing our name and brand in line with our parent company, SRG.
