What’s the latest update?

The Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) recently transitioned their services to a cloud-based platform called Navigate. However, since Monday 6th May, there have been significant challenges, impacting insurer, broker, and client access to the MID.


What are the main issues?

Two primary issues have arisen as a result of the transition to Navigate:

Firstly, many users are experiencing difficulty in setting up new MID accounts for brokers and clients.

There is also an inability in many instances, to upload changes to existing policies.

Consequently, a small but growing number of clients are finding their policy records on MID incomplete or outdated.

Additionally, there have been reported migration issues with User IDs and passwords, potentially affecting platform access. Users with multiple linked profiles have also faced access disruptions.


Who's impacted?

This issue spans the industry, affecting insurers, brokers, and clients differently and is outside our sphere of influence.


Progress updates

The MIB released the following statement on Monday 13th May -

“Over the weekend, we have had teams at MIB and our technical developer, Wipro, working through solutions and we expect to have this functionality fully operational by 17th May.”
